SYS 9046 Systems Engineering Architecture Evaluation On Demand Micro-Course
Time limit: 90 days
Full course description
Topic Description: Systems Engineering Architecture Evaluation
In architecture evaluation, stakeholders and architecture subject matter experts review the architecture artifacts to make sure the proposed solution provides the necessary capability, addresses the architectural drivers, complies with business and technical constraints and satisfies quality attributes. The evaluation event can be a major endeavor with a large team at a major milestone or a series of frequent smaller activities included in the architecture development effort. In this micro-course, we explore a range of architecture evaluation techniques based on scenarios or decisions implemented as major or minor events.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this micro-course, students will be able to:
- Identify architecture evaluation techniques
- Define Architecture Tradeoff Analysis Method (ATAM) for scenario-based evaluation
- Define Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) techniques for decision-based evaluation
- Define Decision Centric Architecture Review (DCAR) for decision-based evaluation
- Define Continuous Software Architecture Analysis (CSAA) for continuous evaluation in agile development
- Define Cyber Resiliency Wheel technique for continuous evaluation during architecture design
This micro-course addresses the following INCOSE learning objectives:
- Define awareness level concepts of architecture definition
This Micro-Course is apart of the Systems Architecture Digital Badge track.
