SYS 9040 Systems Engineering Architecture Types On Demand Micro-Course
Time limit: 90 days
Full course description
Architecture Types
A system architecture supports system analysis and design of its system elements. This micro-course explores different types of architecture where the system elements are not hardware and software designs, where the architecture supports modular design, and where the architecture facilitates incremental delivery of capability. This micro-course then highlights systems of systems (SoS) architecture where the system elements are constituent systems, enterprise architecture where the system elements are organizations, and transition architecture where interim capability is defined as incremental solution delivery.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this micro-course, students will be able to:
- Identify different types of architecture based on their system elements
- Identify different types of architecture to support modular design
- Identify different types of architecture to support incremental solution delivery
- Understand the difference between system of systems (SoS) architecting and systems architecting
- Understand the difference between enterprise and systems architecture
- Define the benefits of transition architecture to depict incremental capability
This micro-course addresses the following INCOSE learning objective:
- Define awareness level concepts of architecture definition
This Micro-Course is apart of the Systems Architecture Digital Badge track.
