Time limit: 90 days
Full course description
Our on-demand micro-course in Systems Engineering Decision Management focuses on identifying, analyzing, & evaluating to select a preferred aspect of a solution. Decision management is a structured approach to identifying, analyzing, and evaluating alternatives to select a preferred aspect of a solution. Systems engineering involves many complex decisions that require a holistic approach to systems analysis. In this micro-course, decision management terminology, process activities, and techniques are defined.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this micro-course, students will be able to:
-
- Understand the concepts of decision making
- Define a high-level process for decision management
- Define techniques for decision analysis
- Describe need to plan for and communicate results of decision analysis
- Identify impact of uncertainty and bias on decisions
This micro-course addresses the following INCOSE learning objective:
- Define the relationship of systems analysis to the other technical processes
- Define how decision management supports the other processes
