SYS 9009 | Systems Engineering Integration, Verification and Validation On-Demand Micro-Course
Time limit: 90 days
Full course description
Topic Description: System Integration, Verification, and Validation (IV&V) Basics
As system elements are aggregated into a realized system, systems integration assembles the system elements, systems verification confirms that the integrated entity satisfies the requirements for that entity, and system validation confirms that the integrated entity satisfies the needs for that entity. In this micro-course, fundamental concepts for system integration, verification, and validation are presented and activities for each are defined.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this micro-course, students will be able to:
- Identify definitions and concepts for systems integration, verification, and validation
- Identify opportunities for early verification and validation in the system lifecycle
- Relate verification to requirements
- Relate validation to needs
- Identify system integration, verification, and validation activities
This micro-course addresses the following INCOSE learning objectives:
- Know the aspects of implementation and integration
- Define the importance of verification in the system process
- Define the importance of validation to the stakeholders
- Define the importance of providing evidence of implementation compliance
This Micro-Course is apart of the Systems Awareness Digital Badge track.
