Topic Description: Systems of Systems (SoS)

A System of Systems (SoS) brings together independent constituent systems to provide a synergistic capability that none of the contributing systems could provide on their own.  In this micro-course, fundamental SoS definitions and concepts are introduced including SoS pain points and the Wave Model for SoS implementation, 

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this micro-course, students will be able to:

• Identify SoS definitions and concepts
• Identify characteristics of a SoS
• Describe systems engineering challenges in a SoS context
• Identify the core elements of SoS Engineering
• Describe the Wave Model for SoS implementation
